TV Land’s 100 Greatest TV Quotes
TV Land has pulled together a list of what they consider to be the 100 greatest TV quotes. Why would they pull such a list?
“We have found that television is such a huge part of baby boomers’ DNA that it makes sense that so much of America’s pop culture jargon comes from TV,” said Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land. The list was complied by TV Land producers and editors.
Here is the top ten from the TV Land list:
#10 “I’m not a crook …” (Richard Nixon)
#9 “Yabba dabba do!” (Fred Flintstone, “The Flintstones”)
#8 “Whatchoo talkin’ ’bout, Willis?” (Arnold, “Diff’rent Strokes”)
#7 “Where’s the beef?” (Wendy’s ad)
#6 “D’oh!” (Homer Simpson, “The Simpsons”)
#5 “Ask not what your country can do for you …” (John F. Kennedy)
#4 “Baby, you’re the greatest” (Ralph Kramden, “The Honeymooners”)
#3 “You’re fired!” (Donald Trump, “The Apprentice”)
#2 “One small step for man …” (Neil Armstrong)
#1 “Here’s Johnny!” (Ed McMahon, “The Tonight Show”)
These are pretty good for the over 30 crowd; I wonder what this list would look like for the under 20 group…
